Friends,

Today I am joining our community in remembering those in uniform who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

To honor our servicewomen and men, we must continue to carry out the democratic principles of freedom, justice, and opportunity that our nation was founded upon.

In fulfilling that duty, I am committed to fighting for their fellow servicemembers and their families through our work in Congress. Last month, I helped introduce the TEAM Veteran Caregivers Act -- a bill to expand benefits for America’s military caregivers so that our veterans may receive the dignified support and quality health services they’ve earned, especially during this public health crisis.

I will continue to ensure that our nation’s 18.2 million veterans and their families receive care and benefits that are worthy of the sacrifices they have made to protect and defend our country.

This Memorial Day, I hope you will take a moment to express our profound gratitude for those who are serving, have served, and for our fallen heroes.
