At his confirmation hearing on Tuesday, Pete Hegseth failed to prove that he has the qualifications needed to be our nation’s Secretary of Defense.

I asked him if he ever led an audit. He refused to answer my question. I asked him to describe at least one of the main international security agreements that a Secretary of Defense is responsible for leading. He could not name any.

I asked him to name at least one nation that is a part of ASEAN, an organization with several member states that have defense agreements with the U.S. Not one of the three countries he named were correct.

We cannot allow this inordinately unqualified man to lead our heroes, and I’m urging my Senate colleagues to vote no on confirming Pete Hegseth.
