Hi friend,
I’m not reaching out to you today as the Vice President of Direct Response at Americares. I’m coming to you with a heavy heart as a resident of Los Angeles County.
For the past two weeks, I have witnessed massive wildfires burn through our neighborhoods and communities, leaving unimaginable devastation in their wake. Families have lost everything – their homes, their belongings, their sense of stability.
I’ve spoken with friends and neighbors who can’t return to their homes. Many remain without power or access to drinkable water. Folks in the service industry – gardeners, cleaners, childcare providers – find themselves without a much-needed paycheck. And for thousands of families, there is no home to get back to. The rhythms of daily life and the comfort of routine have been completely turned upside down.
My heart aches for California but I remain hopeful. Even as headlines move on, Americares is here doing what we do best – helping those in crisis. That’s why I’m personally asking: Will you please donate $125 to help our teams deliver lifesaving aid in California and wherever disaster strikes?

Americares team members Rhonda Moore and Jake Wheeler speak with a local resident of Pasadena who lost his home in the Eaton Fire.
Our team is on the ground connecting with local partners to assess their immediate needs. We’re providing essential medicine and medical supplies including N95 masks to protect against poor air quality, clean drinking water and respiratory medicine to communities who need it most.
The reality is that long after the wildfires subside, the invisible impact will remain: the mental health struggles, the lasting anxiety and trauma and the overwhelming loss of stability. But Americares isn’t going anywhere: We’re committed to helping communities and first responders access health now and face the future.
But we need your support to make this impactful work possible. Please, friend, if you’re able, will you make a donation today to support Americares response in California and across the world?
