Friends, today is Memorial Day. Usually a day of parades, crowded beaches and community picnics, this holiday looks a lot different this year.

But even as the way we observe this holiday temporarily adjusts, I believe we can all take heart in the fundamental meaning of the day: remembering our fallen heroes.

Let's all take a moment to appreciate the sacrifice of so many brave men and women in our military who gave their lives to defend our democracy and our values. And, let's take a moment to honor our Gold Star Families and the legacy they represent.
