Welcome to 2025, where the drama in Chicago politics never seems to end. Mayor Brandon Johnson, the man tasked with representing the people of Chicago, continues to raise eyebrows with his blatant disregard for ethical governance.

Recently, Mayor Johnson was confronted about a glaring conflict of interest: he is still an employee of Chicago Public Schools (on leave), which means he directly benefits from the contract he is currently negotiating with the Chicago Teachers Union as mayor.

When asked about this troubling situation, his response was as dismissive as it was shocking:

“There is no conflict of interest.”

Well, that cleared everything up, didn’t it? Apparently, Johnson believes that taxpayers will simply take his word for it while he advances his own interests and those of his political allies at the Chicago Teachers Union.

While Mayor Johnson should be serving the people of Chicago, he’s instead working to enrich himself and his cronies—all at the expense of Illinois taxpayers.
