- Ongoing works as part of the Streets for People and Highways Planned Maintenance programmes
National Highways has announced that it will be closing the A52 QMC roundabout for two weekends as part of ongoing bridge repair works.
The project is at the point where the damaged beam is ready to be removed and replaced, and the closures are for safety while that takes place.
National Highways has said the first will be from 8pm on Friday 24 January to 6am on Monday 27 January with a contingency date of the following weekend. The second will be 8pm on Friday 7 February to 6am on Monday 10 February, with another contingency date of the following weekend.
These roads will be closed:
- A52 eastbound from Priory Island to QMC roundabout
- QMC roundabout between the A6514 Middleton Boulevard northbound entry slip road and the southbound exit slip
- The Middleton Boulevard northbound entry slip road off QMC roundabout
- Middleton Boulevard underneath the roundabout
Diversion routes are here. National Highways expects these to be busy so has asked drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys.

Significant progress has been made this week at Queens Drive but the site remains closed for now.
Power is mostly restored but a few issues remain with some buildings still damp in places. More time is needed to ensure the power remains stable and to allow testing over the next few days. A further site review is planned for Monday.
We'll again update on our social media channels here and here.
