Good morning.

I know we sent a lot of emails during the presidential campaign, and it's not something I am going to do on a daily basis going forward.

But I am writing today with a very important request that I hope you'll respond to. I am asking you to make a very well-timed donation to the Democratic National Committee.

Otherwise, here's why I am asking you to contribute today.

In just a few days, we'll have a Republican White House to go along with the Republican House and Senate.

And if history is any guide, you can expect efforts to pass tax cuts for the rich while taking away health care from millions of Americans. You can expect Republican budgets that will cut programs like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

That is what Republicans do when they have control, and we don't have to look too far in the past to see the last time they tried.

So it has never been more important that we have a strong Democratic Party able to stop them to protect the American people — including those who voted for Republicans in the last election.

And we have elections to win, as well. Both require a strong team to get it done.

$5 to protect the Affordable Care Act, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

$5 to help Democrats win the next round of elections.

$5 because it takes all of us in it together if we're going to get it done.
