Friend,

In case you missed it, I have some incredible news to tell you.

Last night, our campaign officially won the endorsement of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) party.

First, I want to start by saying thank you. We have never had a female nominee for either major party before in Minnesota’s 8th District, and it would not have been possible without so many of us working together to make it happen.

Now that this nomination process is over, we must turn our attention, united, to winning the general election in November. I am running for Congress because our healthcare system is broken. I know because I’ve seen it firsthand. Even with my health insurance, I paid $10,532 out of pocket last year to manage my type one diabetes.

My perspective through my own struggle with the healthcare system has shown me just how broken it is: How people are rationing their medication because it’s that or they can’t put food on the table. The families who are petrified of calling an ambulance because they can’t afford their deductible.

Our district deserves a champion who will never walk away from a tough fight—especially this one. But Pete Stauber did.

When I met with him to ask him to help the Minnesota Insulin for All movement, he said he would. But he lied to my face, and never signed legislation, never held a town hall, and even voted against those with pre-existing conditions.

Let me promise you this: I will NEVER walk away from our fight. Together, we’re going to be heard, we’re going to make changes to lower the cost of prescription drugs, make medical care affordable, and make it easier to get care.

Our fight is far from over, but this endorsement is the momentum we need to enter the next phase of our campaign: forming a powerful grassroots coalition ready to unseat Pete Stauber and flip this seat blue.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
