Friend,
Today we honor the men and women who gave their lives for their fellow Americans.
Memorial Day is a special time to reflect on those sacrifices and celebrate this great nation. These brave heroes gave everything so that we may enjoy the blessings of liberty today and every day.
While our country has been mired in these challenging times recently, we know that the United States has faced many hardships and troubles before, and we've always overcome.

Our grit, resilience, and virtues helped early settlers push through the harshest of winters, Washington win against the greatest army in the world, hold together a nation torn apart by civil unrest, and defeat the powers of tyranny and oppression during global conflicts with God’s help.
In short, the United States is worth fighting for, and countless men and women from Kansas and all corners of the country have sworn to defend her for more than two centuries. Some gave their last full measure of devotion – and today we remember and honor the fallen heroes with a grateful heart.
Sincerely,
Rep. Ron Estes
