A Final Goodbye

We dedicate this newsletter, our final TCN Morning Note before Inauguration Day, to the Pennsylvania Avenue Senior Living Center’s most special resident.

We and America’s entire citizenry will never forget Joe Biden. He has changed the world.

So goodbye, Mr. President. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Or do.

Democrats Protect Sexual-Abuser Illegal Immigrants

Raise your hand if you think illegal immigrants who commit sexual assault should remain in the United States.

Anyone? Anyone at all?

If Congress was reading this, 145 House Democrats would be reaching for the sky. That’s the number of them who just voted against a bill to deport illegals convicted of sex crimes.

Their rationale is laughable. This bill "does absolutely nothing to address the needs of the American people," Rep. Pramila Jayapal actually said on Thursday. Does she think we want to be raped?

“Really Screwed Up”: Biden Slams Red States in Final Interview

Remember Barack Obama?

It’s genuinely possible that Joe Biden doesn’t. If he did, he probably wouldn’t have said what he said last night. The president tore into “red states” during his final Oval Office interview, saying they “really screwed up” their post-COVID economic recoveries even though data suggests GOP-led states like Florida and Texas actually thrived the most.

That messaging is a far cry from what Biden’s old boss used to say. Democrats have thrown the idea that there are no red states or blue states, but only the United States out the window.

The rest of the interview entailed exactly what you’d expect. Biden expressed “serious concern” for democracy because the people duly elected a candidate he doesn’t like, sounded the alarm on threats to free speech despite calling for mass censorship just the night before, and boasted about how many tax dollars he’s used to further the slaughter of tens of thousands of Eastern Europeans.

Grief-Stricken Talk Show Host Bids Biden Emotional Farewell

It’s a good thing Inauguration Day falls on a national holiday. Expecting people to muster up the strength to work while simultaneously grappling with the emotional strife of saying goodbye to Joe Biden would have been entirely unreasonable.

Especially if those people are hosts on The View. We can forecast waterfalls of tears coming out of their cushy studio.

Joy Behar got the ball rolling during yesterday’s episode, woefully telling her audience, “I miss [Biden] already. I miss him. He’s a good person. You know, he spent the last 50 years caring about the country.”

At this point, is relitigating the president’s record even worth it? The man Behar and the rest of the hysterical Left insist is such a good person is the same guy who rigged Senate committee hearings to ensure George Bush’s Iraq invasion received authorization. He’s really their moral champion?

Biden and Harris Breaking Up on Hostile Terms

All bad things must come to an end.

Monday will mark the finish of two: the Biden presidency and the Biden-Harris partnership. According to a new report, the latter is ending in an unpleasant manner.

Like a kindergartener befuddled about being picked last for dodgeball, the vice president is said to have “deep sadness” over her boss’s belief that he could have beaten Donald Trump. She sees his rhetoric as indicative of “one-sided loyalty.” Cry us a river.

If you think about it, you’ll quickly realize this was bound to happen. Although their union was voluntary, the president and his VP were always a match made in hell. Kamala never liked Joe. Her 2020 debate attacks prove it without a shadow of a doubt. And for his part, Biden never really wanted anything to do with her either. He only threw her on his ticket because of her skin color. That is not a recipe for success. Read more.

TIL DEATH DO US PART: Britain, Ukraine Announce Century-Long Alliance

Donald Trump understands what the overwhelming majority of political leaders do not: a wise statesman never tips his hand.

His strategy has no downside. It keeps enemies on their toes, incentivizes friends to remain friendly, and creates valuable optionality for if and when a crisis hits. Why would anyone want to box themselves into a corner by making blind, long-term commitments that could hamstring them later on?

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer would be a good person to ask. By entering his country into a 100-year alliance with Ukraine, without parliament’s approval no less, Starmer is putting the United Kingdom in a needless and unenviable position.

A lot can change in a century. It’s impossible to predict what England, Ukraine, or any global power will be like in even half that time. Say in 74 years, when Starmer’s agreement still binds the U.K., Ukraine transforms into a hostile adversary and begins attacking the West. What would the Brits do? If they abide by their contract, they’ll support a nation that actively seeks its destruction. If they don’t, they’ll establish themselves as a country whose word means nothing. Neither is a good option, and there’s nothing to gain by leaving the door open for that scenario to play out. A century-long alliance is not necessary. The U.K. could still happily launder money to Eastern Europe without one.

Starmer doing it anyway shows that at this point, never-ending Ukraine support is more of a weird fetish than a serious policy. It makes sad politicians feel useful.

FBI Shifts Focus to Law Enforcement, Not Skin Color

Your best friend has been murdered.

You are devastated. They didn’t deserve this, and now you and their family face a lifetime of grief. What kind of monster would commit such a senseless crime?

There’s a knock on the door. It’s the FBI. Thank God. They’ll get to the bottom of this. Justice is coming.

But wait. There’s a problem. The agents are white men.

Has this ever happened? Has any person in dire straits ever cared about their rescuer's skin color? Or are they just grateful for someone helping them during a crisis?

Joe Biden thought this was a serious issue. That’s why his FBI spent your tax dollars on a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion office. But no more. Thanks to Donald Trump’s victory, it shut down in December.

“The question is why were they allowed to be focused on DEI in the first place?” Senator Marsha Blackburn reportedly asked after yesterday’s announcement. “The FBI should be focused on catching criminals, not winning participation trophies.”

Nailed it.

Women’s March Purges Women

In a way, the culture war Left deserves some credit.

It never made sense to hold a women’s march while refusing to define what a woman is. So they’re not. When this year’s horde of pink-hat-wearing activists floods the nation’s capital, they’ll do so as part of the People’s March, not the Women’s March.

Why the rebrand? Simple. The gathering’s leaders want to leave no doubt that their event is not bound by some out-of-touch biologically sound label. The People’s March is for more than just women. It’s for womxn. Trans, genderpuck, cavusgender, you name it. Anyone in all of peoplekind can come. Just don’t you dare assume their pronouns.

DESPERATE MEASURES: Crippled by Water Shortage, CA Fire Chief Resorts to Milk and Beer

California has 840 miles of coastline. It shouldn’t be all that hard to access water, especially when the resource is so desperately needed to stop the state from burning to a crisp.

But things haven’t played out that way. Some heroes are generating creative solutions.

Enter resourceful fire chief Brian Fennessy. When Fennessy discovered his brother’s neighborhood was engulfed in flames, but that he couldn’t access any water to stop the blaze, he thought on his feet.

“I thought I’ll check the refrigerator and all that was in there was some milk and a couple beers,” the fire chief reportedly recalled. So he went to work. And he saved two homes.

If that’s not American greatness, we’re not sure what is.

Drone-Aided Pigeon Thieves Terrorize Belgium

Hide your pigeons. Sophisticated plots to have them captured could be underway.

Drones in Belgium are reportedly on the prowl for the prized birds, serving as advanced scouts of the country’s finest residential lofts before their operators arrive to make their big grabs.

The point of all this? The Belgian pigeon business is far more lucrative than you may realize. The fast-flying fowls, who compete in high-stakes athletic competitions, can be worth over seven figures if they achieve racing glory. The most expensive bird in the pigeon-racing nation sold for 1.6 million euros a few years ago.

Commentary

Once Again, Joe Biden Said What?

According to Joe Biden, his party’s failure to win reelection was not because it’s done a bad job. It was because its leadership was just too humble.

“I almost spent too much time on the policy and not enough time on the politics,” Biden reflected on his administration during last night’s interview. Advertising his accomplishments? “It just seems, I know it sounds so stupid to say it, almost bad taste.”

This is the same guy who once pointed and shouted at a town hall attendee, belittling the man by declaring himself to have “A much higher IQ than you do.” What a class act.

Regardless of what Biden’s fried brain leads him to believe, the Democrats’ defeat was entirely because of policy. It wasn’t because they did a good job and people just didn’t realize it. It was because they didn’t do a good job at all.

You know the damage their agenda caused. You lived through it. Open border. Foreign wars. Insurmountable costs of living. Globalist, America Last policies. All of that hurt the country.

But even in the areas in which Biden could have helped his constituents, or at least pleased his base, the president hardly even tried. Raise the minimum wage? Didn’t he promise to do that? Funny how he never even tried. Paid family leave? That polls unbelievably high. Try finding examples of Biden pushing for it during his presidency. You won’t stumble across much.

That’s why he’s leaving in disgrace. If you brand yourself as this generation’s FDR, then don’t even bother trying to give your voters what they elected you for, you can’t expect the people’s support. Democrats flocked to Trump because Biden didn’t give them what they wanted. Maybe they’ll find that the new president will.

This Day in History

January 17, 1961: Dwight Eisenhower delivers his farewell address. The 34th president and decorated World War II general ended his eight-year reign by warning Americans against the establishment of a “military-industrial complex” with the “potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power.” Everyone should listen to the speech. Its sentiments still ring true today. Watch it here.
