Friend,
After more than 15 months of devastating war and relentless violence in Gaza, the announcement of a provisional ceasefire, which has not yet been signed and implemented, offers hope for a vital respite, though it comes tragically late.
While we wait for its implementation, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) continues to call for a sustained ceasefire. This fragile relief needs to be more than a pause so that people can rebuild their lives, reclaim their dignity, and mourn everything they’ve lost.
A ceasefire is only the first step to addressing the overwhelming humanitarian, medical, and psychological needs of the people of Gaza. The health care system in Gaza has collapsed. Living conditions are unbearable. The flow of humanitarian aid and supplies is still severely restricted. Despite these challenges, MSF has continued to work in Gaza where and when it’s possible throughout the war—as we have for over 35 years.
Since October 2023, MSF teams have witnessed unimaginable loss. Our teams experienced the destruction of Gaza’s health care system firsthand while treating patients under the most horrific, unbearable conditions. We remain committed to providing critical medical humanitarian aid to any patient who needs it, regardless of race, religion, gender, or politics.

Your support has allowed us to remain independent—enabling us to respond where needs are greatest—and to bear witness and speak out about the suffering of our patients.
As the situation evolves, we are committed to addressing the staggering needs that remain in Gaza in the wake of this conflict. It means so much to know that this community of supporters will be there with us, ensuring we can continue to be a lifeline in Gaza and around the globe.
From all of us at MSF, thank you.
