Confirmation Hearings: Explained

This week, the Senate kicked off confirmation hearings for individuals President-elect Donald Trump has nominated to top-level governmental positions. The Senate confirmation process serves as an important check on the president’s power and is a crucial vehicle for transparency and accountability.

To that end, Campaign Legal Center is closely monitoring the latest confirmation hearings as part of our long-standing work to hold those in positions of power accountable.

Curious how the confirmation hearing process works? We break it down and explain all you need to know about the proceedings.
