John — this week’s Senate confirmation hearings have made one thing painfully clear: Trump has nominated a Cabinet of sycophants who will turn a blind eye to science, justice, and democracy itself.
His dangerous nominees can’t go unchallenged. Will you donate today to help us fight back against their reckless agenda? [[link removed]]
Let’s talk about the worst of the worst: Trump’s energy and environmental nominees — the fossil fuel trio of doom:
❌ Doug Burgum (Interior Secretary): Burgum’s ties to the fossil fuel industry, including personal royalties from oil leases and campaign contributions from top oil companies, leave no doubt where his loyalties lie. As governor of North Dakota, he oversaw a massive expansion of drilling in the state. If confirmed, Burgum will oversee drilling on federal land and hand Big Oil the keys.
❌ Chris Wright (Energy Secretary): Wright is the CEO of Liberty Energy, a fracking company, and one of Trump’s staunchest allies in pushing fossil fuels at all costs. At his confirmation hearing, Wright vowed to implement Trump’s “bold energy agenda,” a plan that prioritizes more drilling, rolling back climate protections, and ignoring the escalating climate crisis. His loyalty lies with the oil and gas industry — not the environment, and not us.
❌ Lee Zeldin (EPA Administrator): Zeldin’s abysmal 14% lifetime score from the League of Conservation Voters in Congress just goes to show how he has spent his career rolling back environmental protections. If confirmed, he’ll be primed to dismantle decades of progress at the EPA, turning it into a playground for polluters.
And it doesn’t stop there. Trump is handing the Department of Defense to Pete Hegseth, a Fox News personality with no relevant experience. His pick for Attorney General, Pam Bondi, is best known for her close ties to Trump himself, having served as one of his lawyers during his first impeachment trial. And don’t forget John Ratcliffe (CIA Director) and reality television star Sean Duffy (Secretary of Transportation), whose records make it clear they are there to serve Trump’s personal interests, not the American people.
Let’s be honest: Senate Republicans will confirm them. We know it, and so does Trump. But here’s what they don’t expect: a grassroots movement that can rise to meet the moment.
