Dear John,
We're seeking dedicated SVN members to join the Governance Working Group for a short-term commitment (now through April 2, 2025) to help guide SVN through our first-ever member-elected Board of Directors process. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a historic moment in SVN's evolution without requiring a long-term time commitment.
The recent passage of our new bylaws has established direct Board elections - a transformative shift in SVN's governance. The Governance Committee will play a crucial role in ensuring this transition reflects our values of transparency, inclusion, and member engagement.
Why Join the Governance Working Group?
Guide SVN's transition to democratic governance
Interview and evaluate Board candidates
Help shape our organization's future leadership
Contribute to the ongoing development of SVN's bylaws & governance
Key Activities & Dates:
Over the next 3 months, the working group will manage our first Board election process.
Jan: 16-25: Volunteer to serve - email Dror Yaron at [email protected]
Feb 4: Onboarding new working group members
Feb 4-9: Reviewing nominations and continued outreach
Feb 11: Scheduling nominees interviews
Feb 17-24: Conducting nominee interviews
Feb 25: Finalizing the list of candidates
Your commitment would conclude on April 2nd with the transition to the new board. While there will be opportunities to continue serving in the working group if you wish, there is absolutely no obligation to do so.
Note: We're simultaneously accepting nominations for Board positions. If you're interested in serving on the Board instead of the Governance Working Group, check your email for our separate email about Board nominations, or click here to learn more.
Ready to Join?
Contact the acting Governance Working Group Chair, Dror Yaron, at [email protected] to learn more or volunteer your participation.
Building together,
SVN Board of Directors
