Friend,
On Memorial Day, we pay tribute to the men and women in uniform who have fallen in service to America. Across the country, we will lay flags and wreaths. We will remember the lives not only of our loved ones -- but of the many men and women who we have never known and to whom we owe so much.
NY19 has some of the oldest counties in America. The folks in our district have always been some of the first to serve our country when called upon. Their families, friends, and loved ones are my constituents. I'm proud to do everything in my power to honor our servicemembers' sacrifice by advocating for military families.
But more than anything, I am grateful. Grateful for the lives lived by our service members, for their sacrifice, and for their dedication. As our nation faces a new threat that will leave no one untouched, I find myself thinking about our military doctors, nurses, and reserve members. They are serving our country at the very real cost of their own safety. Throughout history, America's service members have selflessly faced the fight. They are doing so now, and they will do so again.
So as we enjoy some time with our loved ones -- whether that's together as we have in the past, or in new ways, with our phones and computers -- let's take a moment to be grateful, to comfort those who have lost loved ones, and to commit to honoring their sacrifice.
With Love,
Antonio Delgado
