We need your help!
Participate in our study to earn 25% off at the museum store, plus tons of opportunities to win prizes!
The Wyoming State Museum is launching a project to evaluate our social impact, and we are seeking 100 individuals to participate. We believe that our exhibits, educational offerings, and programs make a difference in our community, but we need people like you to join the study so we can have data to support this. We hope you will sign up!
If selected to participate, you will visit the museum with at least one friend or family member three different times between Mar 3 and Aug 30, 2025. You will then complete a 30-minute survey to share how your experiences at the museum impacted various outcomes.
We need 100 people to participate, so to sweeten the deal we are offering lots of incentives! Every participant will receive:
- 25% off at our museum store during each of their three visits.
- An invitation to attend a behind-the-scenes tour of our museum collection to be scheduled in Fall 2025.
- A gift bag including museum swag and a free taco coupon from Taco Johns
- Early access to tickets for our April 19th “Taps & Traps: A Mountain Man Survival Night”
Plus, each visit during the study period will get you one raffle ticket towards a number of exciting prizes, including:
- 2025 State Parks Annual Pass
- $50 gift card to Black Tooth Brewing Co
- $25 gift card to Sanford's Grub & Pub
- $50 gift card to SCHEELS
- Gift card to Westby Edge Brewing
- Texas Roadhouse "Dinner for Two" up to $30
- 5 beer tickets at Blue Raven Brewery
- 4 tickets to the Cheyenne Depot Museum
By participating, you'll help us demonstrate the significant value our museum brings to the community, as highlighted in this MOMSI Aggregate Findings Report. Your input will strengthen our advocacy efforts and benefit cultural institutions across the state. Together, we can showcase the vital role museums play in enriching our society!
Family Day: I Heart Art
Saturday, February 1
10 am - 2 pm
We heart art, and you should, too!
The Wyoming State Museum is kicking off your Valentine's festivities with “I Heart Art,” a Family Day that gives kids of all ages an opportunity to tap into their creativity and explore the many ways they can bring art into their everyday lives.
This free event features a huge variety of crafts and activities to bring families closer to the museum collections and inspire them to learn more about the world around them. Kids will learn about historic photography, make valentines cards, create still life drawings from museum artifacts, contribute to a finger paint mural, and design their own sculptures out of wikki stix and pipe cleaners.
Our partners at the Cheyenne Animal Shelter will be onsite to provide an educational art activity and Wyoming State Parks will set up a “Plein Air Indoors” station where guests can use watercolors to help paint a landscape. In addition to all these art stations, kids can let out some energy by attending hourly “Wyoming Wiggles” dance parties at 11 am, 12 pm, and 1 pm!
New this month: Register AND attend Family Day to be entered into a raffle to win a Texas Roadhouse $40 meal for two!

New exhibit now open!
Now through March 29, 2025.
For a limited time, photographer Robert Frank’s images of Wyoming will be displayed at the Museum.
Robert Frank is considered one of the most influential figures in the history of photography. He redefined the aesthetic of still and moving images via his pictures and films. After receiving his first Guggenheim Fellowship in 1955, Frank embarked on a two-year trip across America, taking over 28,000 pictures. Eighty-three were ultimately published in Frank’s groundbreaking monograph, The Americans. The exhibition will feature images from Wyoming during his trip, some previously unpublished.
This exhibit was done in partnership with the Wyoming State Archives and the June Leaf and Robert Frank Foundation.
