Congratulations to CHBA Central Interior on 60 Years of Advocacy, Leadership, and Innovation!
CHBA BC

2025 is a big year for CHBA Central Interior (CHBA CI) as the local association is celebrating 60 years of representing the region's residential construction industry.

Established in 1965 as the Kamloops and District House Builders' Association, CHBA CI has continued to grow in size and influence over the years. Starting with a small group of dedicated builders, CHBA CI has developed into an influential organization representing almost 300 businesses, including home builders, renovators, land developers, trade contractors, suppliers, financial institutions, and service professionals.

The highlight of this momentous year will be a 60th-anniversary celebration on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the TRU Grand Hall in Kamloops.

The CHBA CI Training House: Building a Relationship of Support with TRU Trades
Thompson Rivers University

For more than three decades, TRU's School of Trades and Technology and the Canadian Home Builders Association Central Interior (CHBA CI) have worked in partnership to support residential construction. The CHBA CI has cemented this partnership with more than $300,000 in charitable support for TRU, and a new $50,000 endowment that will continue supporting trades students for decades to come.

Each year, TRU students construct a residential training house in partnership with the association, taking knowledge gained in the classroom and learning to apply it in the real world. It is an award-winning public-private partnership.

The 2025 Training House is well underway. You can read more about the project and its legacy here.
