Small town and rural America are speaking up and demanding to be heard at the start of this new Congress – because the progress, support, and funding we need are never going to come if we don't demand it. And I should know: I grew up in rural North Dakota and I've spent my career fighting to deliver for rural Americans.

Now that the 119th Congress is in full swing, and we've got a long list of priorities to work on, it's time to move forward and build the future we want to see in rural and small town America:

* Reliable government services and utilities like postal service and high-speed internet
* Real help for small businesses like increasing the small business tax deduction and increasing access to credit and capital
* A Farm Bill that supports family farms, technology, innovation, and access to credit, land, and markets so farmers have the tools they need to be successful
* Bring back local ownership of doctors' offices and clinics over corporate-owned chains that drive up costs
* Pass Right to Repair laws to force corporations to let consumers repair farm equipment, electronics, appliances, and more

I'll be frank, there's more that needs to be done than can fit in these tidy bullet points, but this is a good start that would transform small town communities in every state across the country.

Rural America deserves thriving, livable, and enjoyable communities where families and businesses flourish. It's gonna be tough work to get everything on this wishlist, but I'm honored to take on this fight – and glad to have you in our corner.

Heidi
