Come Monday, young people’s lives will forever change thanks to the TikTok ban… and Trump’s inauguration. Here’s what you need to know to be ready for whatever happens next week:

 

“What will happen to TikTok on Jan. 19” -Axios

  • There’s been a lot of confusion about what will happen to TikTok in just a few days. The Supreme Court is set to make their decision this week, but lawmakers are urging Biden to extend the deadline. Not only is TikTok one of the most popular apps for young people to learn from and organize, but it also supports 224,000 jobs around the U.S. The ban would totally dismantle this system, and destroy the livelihood of millions of young Americans. “How the climate crisis fuels devastating wildfires: ‘We have tweaked nature and pissed it off” - The Guardian

  • As the most destructive wildfire is tearing through L.A., young people’s concerns about climate change are being highlighted. This devastation is a direct result of climate change. And these disasters will, unfortunately, become more common. We will continue our fight for climate justice because we know young people deserve a future. For half the country, their fear of Trump’s radical ways to accomplish his “goals” has returned. He has consistently pledged to go after “the enemy” which he believes is left-leaning activists and organizers.

We understand that youth activists might be fearful about continuing their work, but we have seen time and time again that the only way to fight back is to keep going.
