Hello John,

It Gets Better is excited to welcome the latest addition to our Board of Directors — social entrepreneur, attorney, fractional COO, and the founder of Rewrite the BiLine, Christina Fialho (she/her).

For nearly two decades, Christina has dedicated her time and focus to scaling and optimizing social impact organizations. As the co-founder/executive director of Freedom for Immigrants, a national immigrant rights nonprofit, she grew an idea into a multi-million dollar organization operating in 26 states. In 2023, she founded Rewrite the BiLine [[link removed]] to change the narrative on bi+ people and non-nuclear families in film, television, and the media.

As a writer, Christina’s work has appeared in various news outlets, including The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Rolling Stone, The Hill, and Forbes. She has served as a script consultant on Emmy-winning series’ like Netflix’s Orange is the New Black and worked with Grammy-winning artist Miguel to garner attention for immigrant rights through his music video “Now.”

“Storytelling and amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities have been central to my career,” Christina explains. “It’s what inspired me to found Rewrite the BiLine because bi+ people and our experiences are often misrepresented or narrowly explored in the media. I’m honored to bring this passion and experience to It Gets Better, an organization that has led the way in using storytelling to shape cultural narratives and drive meaningful change.”

In addition to serving on the board of It Gets Better, Christina has served on various other domestic and international nonprofit boards, including the ACLU of SoCal and the International Detention Coalition. For her work in social innovation, she has been awarded the John F. Kennedy New Frontier Award, the James Irvine Leadership Award, an Ashoka Fellowship, and an Echoing Green Fellowship.

When she’s not devoting her time to making the world a better place for marginalized communities, you can find Christina hiking, painting, and playing with her two cats, Geralt of Rivia and Giselle.

Please join us in welcoming Christina to the It Gets Better family.
