Welcome to 2025 and the 119th Congress. We're still gathering district office
numbers for your new reps but every House and Senate member has at least one
phone number to call right now.

I'm reminded of this pre-inauguration time in 2017 when we started to have a
glimpse of what the first Trump administration would look like but truly did
not know what absurdity we would have to live through for the next four years.
It's impossible to imagine what we'll face this time around but we can take a
little advice from our former selves: ignore the distractions (buying
Greenland, the Gulf of America), pay attention to how your reps are voting on
the Trump agenda and be ready to mobilize against the actual threats to
freedom.

incredibly dangerous and unqualified cabinet appointments:

## [Oppose Pete Hegseth for Defense Secretary]([link removed]-

Pete Hegseth was first in the long list of hearings where Senators get to ask
questions about how he would approach the job and try to dig into what we
already know about his past behavior that would under normal circumstances be
disqualifying. Sexual misconduct, ties to white supremacist groups and showing
up to work drunk are just a few of the many reasons you might want to call to
oppose his nomination.

After dropping out of the Presidential race, Robert Kennedy Jr hitched up to
the MAGA wagon and rode it all the way to being nominated to lead Health and
Human Services. His "Make America Healthy Again" agenda lacks any basis in
medical science so it's no surprise that he opposes vaccines, pushes fake
supplement cures and has no relevant experience that would help him run the
organization that controls Medicare, Medicaid, the CDC and more.
