MARY GAY & DEMS FOR WOMEN’S RIGHTS

Introduced:

H.R. 782 Ensuring Women’s Right to Reproductive Freedom Act — This bill prohibits anyone acting under state law from interfering with a person's ability to access out-of-state abortion services.

H.R.8796 Stop Comstock Act — To repeal the arcane 1873 Comstock Act, that Republicans and anti-choice extremists want to misuse to ban abortion nationwide.

H.R. 9161 Pregnancy Empowerment Act of 2024 — No State may take pregnancy status into consideration when considering the filing of a petition for divorce.

H.R. 6005 Accessing Birth Control Act — Ensuring that pharmacies provide contraception.

H.Con.Res.97 — Recognizing the significance of equal pay and the disparity between wages paid to men and women.

H.R. 12 Women’s Health Protection Act of 2023 — To protect a person's ability to determine whether to continue or end a pregnancy and to protect a health care provider's ability to provide abortion services.

GOP DESTROYING WOMEN’S RIGHTS

** Full transparency: The 118th Congress was the least effective in modern history because of GOP infighting, divisive hearings, and the inability to pass legislation without Donald Trump’s approval. **

Introduced:

2024 Budget Bill — Would have blocked President Biden’s executive order to increase abortion access, eliminated Title X (family funding program), gutted the Office of Women’s Health, and more.

H.R.7 No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act of 2023 — Prohibiting taxpayer-funded abortion.

H.Res.1285 — Condemning the pro-abortion policies of the Biden administration.

Passed:

Blocked the inclusion of equal pay in the Women’s Bill of Rights.

H.R. 734 The Protecting Women and Girls in Sports Act — Bans transgender athletes from participating in women’s sports that align with their gender identity if their sex assigned at birth is male under Title IX.

The 118th Congress was the least effective in modern history — yet they still managed to block attempts to protect women’s rights and introduced dangerous legislation. Now, with Trump heading into office and the Senate and House both in Republican control, it’s even more important that we do not roll over in standing up for all women.

Mary Gay knows to stop the dismantling of equal rights we must use every lever of power we have to fight this GOP from running amok in Congress. And that includes making sure the people – including you – are behind her.
