Are you a Teacher of the Deaf with Experience of working with Deaf children and young people who is looking for a new challenge?

Do you have high expectations and are you committed to improving outcomes for hearing impaired children and young people?

Would you welcome the opportunity to be working within a well established Sensory Team, working directly with hearing impaired pupils, in homes, in settings , in schools and with families providing direct teaching support, consultancy and delivering training to schools and other providers.
?
Do you have the flexibility to work across a range of school and across all ages (0-19), abilities and key stages?
?
Are you committed to continual professional development and exploring innovative ways of working?
?
We are looking to appoint for September 2020 (or January2021 if necessary) a qualified highly motivated and experienced teacher who can work in partnership with schools, settings and families to promote the achievement, inclusion and independence of hearing impaired children and young people across Nottingham City.? You will need to have excellent oral and written communication skills.? You will also understand the barrier to learning that deaf children and young people face and how these may be overcome.???

Applications are also welcome from good teachers in mainstream or special schools looking to develop their career in working with pupils with a hearing impairment.? You must be willing to gain the mandatory qualification (distance learning) as a teacher of the deaf within 3 years of taking up?the post.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
?
  • Qualified teacher
  • Substantial teaching experience
  • Experience of working with children and young people with a hearing impairment
  • an understanding of the principles of inclusive education in relation to children and young people with a hearing impairment
  • an understanding of language development and it's importance for access to learning
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing
  • A current driving license and access to a car for work
