This new year I'm keeping my focus on the power of play and connection. When we play together, we build essential relationships and skills that are the foundation for a better future. That is why we continue the commitment for every child to play every day.
Playworks is leading communities in play through our team of Playworks Coaches. In a new brief developed in partnership with the Lego Foundation and UNICEF, the authors shared that Playworks Coaches model “positive behaviours such as kindness, inclusion, belonging, and power-sharing with children, [thus] they influenced other teachers, caregivers, and adults who sought to experience a constructive, healthy relationship with children.”
By playing together, we create strong connections with other people – at all ages. Let’s continue our work together to build communities of play where every child and adult feel welcomed and connected.
