John,

As you might have seen, the polling date for the Eden-Monaro by-election has been announced as July 4 and the campaign is now officially underway.

But you’ve already been helping Labor out in Eden-Monaro so I wanted to take a moment to give you an update on how things are going and say thanks.

Since I was announced as Labor’s candidate in early May, it’s been incredible to know how much support I’ve got from supporters around the country.

Here’s what the campaign has done so far with your support.

Already we’ve raised over $100,000 from thousands of small dollar grassroots online donations.

104 volunteers have joined virtual phonebanks across NSW and made 3,624 calls to voters in the electorate. It’s going so well, we are ready to roll out the phonebanks across the country.

And my content on social media has been seen over a million times.

All of that has been accomplished before the starters gun was even fired – so thank you for being a part of that!

But despite all of those amazing accomplishments, the campaign has only just begun.

We’ve still got 40 days until polling day and all indications are that this campaign will be a close one – that means we can’t be complacent or leave any stone unturned.

Over the coming weeks, my campaign team and I – supported by hundreds of volunteers and thousands of online supporters and donors – will be hard at work over the coming weeks to talk to as many voters as possible.

With your support, we can do this.

If you would like to get involved in the campaign and join a virtual phone bank, just head here to sign up. You can participate from anywhere in the country. All you need is a laptop and phone.

If you can contribute a small donation towards funding the campaign advertising we need to reach voters, just chip in here.

Every little thing you can do to help will get us one step closer to a Labor win on July 4.

Thanks for your support,

Kristy McBain
