On Monday night, a 17-year-old girl was unintentionally shot in the head and killed by a friend. She was the second teen to die as a result of an unintentional shooting in Miami in less than a week. This is an absolute tragedy. And it's preventable.

We know the solution: Ensure gun owners safely store firearms! That means locked, unloaded, and inaccessible to children.

Will you sign our petition demanding that Congress pass legislation to promote safe firearm storage?

“It’s reprehensible because both of these cases could have been prevented." — Miami Police Chief Jorge Colina

Right now, gun sales are surging. More kids are at home and unsupervised. It 's a matter of life and death that we ensure kids don’t have access to guns at home.

We have a goal of sending 20,000 signatures to Congress by midnight tonight: Please, will you sign the petition and demand Congress end family fire once and for all?

Thank you for joining Brady in urging Congress to pass common-sense legislation to prevent tragedies and save lives.
