John, do you remember what was going through your head the day Donald Trump was inaugurated eight years ago?
For me, the feeling is hard to forget: the anger, the frustration, the hopelessness. But as we prepare for a repeat of that very moment, I’m reminded of how, together, we transformed those feelings of despair into action.
In 2017, I co-founded Run for Something in an effort to empower young progressives to run for office, win, and lead. Because by doing that, I knew we had a genuine chance at countering Trump’s grim vision for the nation by combating extremism and transforming our political landscape from the ground up.
And in the years since, that vision has sparked an incredible movement. Just last November, 222 of our endorsed candidates went on to win their races — with over 12,000 new sign-ups just after Trump’s reelection alone.
But as we head into 2025, we’ve got yet another Trump presidency waiting for us, making the stakes higher than ever. His dangerous agenda threatens everything we’ve fought for — from reproductive rights to public education to our democracy as we know it.
That’s why your support in this moment couldn’t be more crucial: Right now, a generous group of donors is matching all gifts until our critical fundraising deadline, meaning your impact goes twice as far toward the future of progressive leadership. So please, will you help us fight back ahead of Run for Something’s eight-year anniversary with your donation of $5 or more today?
Thank you,
Amanda Litman
