Earlier today, a ceasefire and hostage release agreement was announced between Israel and Hamas, which is the first step to allowing humanitarian organizations to scale up the delivery of desperately needed supplies to civilians in Gaza.

Together, Mercy Corps and supporters have been advocating for a ceasefire for more than a year, so we welcome this news and maintain hope that this ceasefire agreement will hold in the weeks and months ahead.

Mercy Corps teams and partners are continuing to transport lifesaving relief — including food, water, hygiene kits, and shelter supplies — into the region. With more than 1.9 million people forced from their homes and suffering through freezing winter nights in makeshift shelters. We hope this ceasefire agreement will open a critical window for aid delivery, and we’re calling on you to help. Please rush your gift to help families in crisis in Gaza and 40+ countries around the globe.
