This week the Texas Legislature kicks off its 2025 legislative session, and we already know what to expect.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and his allies in the Legislature are working overtime to turn Texas into a testing ground for the most dangerous policies Republicans want to implement nationwide.

Here’s what’s on their agenda:

→ Draining funding from public schools for private school voucher schemes
→ Prosecuting doctors who provide abortions and even BANNING websites that provide information about reproductive care
→ Pushing new voting restrictions to make it even harder for Texans to vote

Make no mistake: what happens in Texas doesn’t stay in Texas. For decades, the far-right has used our state as an incubator for the most extreme policies. With Trump in office, there’s no doubt they’ll push even more extreme ideas.

Our fundamental rights are on the line in Texas and across the nation. That’s why none of us can afford to sit back and watch.
