Hey team,

Not too long ago, climate change hovered at the bottom on the priority list for most voters and politicians. And on the rare occasions when politicians did talk about climate change, they talked about things like melting glaciers and hungry polar bears and one-degree-warming predictions.

Those things are important, of course, but they don’t seem especially relevant to our everyday lives.

But something’s changed in the past couple of years. Maybe it’s the sudden spike in record-breaking storms, floods, wildfires, and extreme weather, or maybe it’s the fact we’re living through the hottest years in human history. When natural disaster insurance rates started skyrocketing across the country, politicians couldn’t ignore it any longer.

A new class of leaders began to talk about it on the campaign trail, in state capitals, and in Washington. I was one of them; the first member of Congress to run on a climate-first platform. I couldn’t continue to ignore the gigantic melting glacier in the room, this existential threat to humanity.

So I ran for Congress and started talking about it. A lot. (Just ask my colleagues if they’re sick of hearing about renewable energy investment.)

Climate change brought me to Congress, and I’ll never, ever stop fighting to solve it. No matter how mad it makes Trump’s Big Oil overlords (sorry, not sorry).

And, as we’ve seen recently, with California’s tragic wildfires and Hurricane Helene’s path of destruction, the consequences of inaction are too great to wait. The time for action is NOW.

That’s why I need your urgent help to confront this crisis in any way I can, with solutions that make our economy stronger. Please, will you invest $25 in a sustainable American future? [[link removed]]
