This bill would trample the rights of countless immigrant communities.

ACLU Supporter, we're going up against a massive expansion of anti-immigrant detentions.

Just last week, the House passed the first immigration bill of the new Congress, the Laken Riley Act – an extreme bill that requires the detention of longtime residents, even children, without due process. If passed, this bill – which exploits the tragic death of Laken Riley to advance a false narrative around immigrants – will advance President-elect Trump's cruel anti-immigrant agenda.

We can't let xenophobia and racism determine our country's policies. We have one chance to stop this unconstitutional bill from passing – and the Senate needs to hear from us now.

Text DEFEND to 82623 now to tell your Senator to vote NO on the Laken Riley Act and defend immigrant communities.

This bill would require the detention of any immigrant accused of a nonviolent offense, such as shoplifting diapers – even if the alleged offense was decades ago, the individual was never charged for the offense or was acquitted, and even if immigration authorities think the person poses no danger to the community.

This bill would feed mass incarceration, enrich the private prison industry, and deprive immigrants of the basic constitutional right to due process.

The Senate is set to vote on this bill as soon as tomorrow – so we have to act now. Tell your Senator to oppose this harmful bill by texting DEFEND to 82623 today.
