My name is Josh Weil, and I am the Dad, public school teacher, and Democrat running in the Special Election for Florida’s 6th Congressional District - the bellwether first election of 2025 and Dems' first chance to fight back against MAGA’s Project 2025.
By now, you are probably used to political emails that peddle a false sense of urgency for the most miniscule of deadlines, i.e.:
“if we don’t hit our Monday morning 11 AM goal in 5 minutes - this campaign AND our democracy is going to crash and burn 🔥😢”
When I say that meeting our Jan 15th mid-month goal today is beyond critical, know that this isn’t one of those arbitrary rhetorical devices. As of today, our campaign has exactly 76 days until our April 1st election to raise enough money to have a viable shot at flipping this seat.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has intentionally given us as little time as possible to build our campaign. What your average campaign has two years to do, we are doing in less than three months.
But as a teacher who has had to develop online learning programs from scratch during COVID and effectively teach with the some of the smallest classroom budgets imaginable, I know what it’s like to build the bus while driving it, and I know that this campaign will be ready to win on April 1st.
