John, Happy New Year!

January has arrived and, with it, we’ve been experiencing some very cold weather. As well as dusting off your cosiest jumpers and seeing an impact on your heating bill, cold weather can also have an impact on diabetes management.

From checking blood sugars and taking extra care with your feet to looking after medication and keeping up to date with cold and flu jabs, you can find support and advice on all of the extra things you might need to think about this winter on our website.

Chicken dinner

Try this chicken dinner

We all love a classic recipe, and it doesn’t get more traditional than a roast chicken dinner. If you’re looking to shake up a classic, then this roast chicken with celeriac chips is the recipe for you. This hearty meal, serves six so is a great dinner to cook for family and friends, or if you’re cooking for less you can save the left overs for lunch the next day!

Only Water Challenge

Up for the challenge?

One month. Only water. Are you up for the challenge? This February, we’re challenging you to give up your favourite drinks and drink only water for a month. The challenge raised over £43,640 in 2024 to support people affected by diabetes. We'll be with you every sip of the way - will you help us make Only Water 2025 an even bigger success?

Count me in

Best wishes,

Ciara at Diabetes UK

P.S. In 2024, we invested over 5million into pioneering diabetes research – check out this round-up to see what we achieved in research last year.
