Today we’re announcing some really exciting news: Our campaign unlocked public matching funds, bringing our total amount raised to $5.4 million.

John, this means we’ve raised the most money in the race — more than any other candidate running for Mayor of New York City.

With your help, we’re building a truly strong and diverse campaign that can win citywide. This money will allow us to reach more and more voters during these crucial months before election day.

These numbers are remarkable — and not just because they speak to our fundraising achievements, or the immense grassroots energy for our campaign across all five boroughs.

There’s a palpable feeling all across the city. New Yorkers are stressed out and fed up — with the cost of living, with corrupt leadership, and with disorder on our subways and streets. City government must work better for New Yorkers, and it can.

When I’m Mayor, that means we’re going to end street homelessness for people with serious mental illness by creating a system where we put housing first, not last. We'll tackle housing affordability by protecting tenants and building mixed income neighborhoods, like we did in Gowanus. We'll make sure that every family has a great after school program for their kids, and that we meet the promise of universal 3K.

Together, we’re going to change this city — and make it safer, more affordable, more livable, and better-run than ever before.

Today I’m celebrating our accomplishment, and I hope you do, too, John. After all, $5.4 million is certainly an impressive number. However, it doesn’t mean we’ll be coasting from here on out. The race is on, and with the spending cap for this campaign at $8.3 million, there’s a lot more small-dollar donor power we’ll have to harness. Of course, it’s nothing we can’t achieve together.
