Dear Senator [Name],
The recent decision by the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant is a politically motivated act that undermines international law and damages U.S. interests in the region.
The prosecutors of the ICC know very well that neither the U.S. nor Israel is a signatory to the ICC treaty, and that they have no jurisdiction. If a war crime were committed by soldiers in either country, military justice would investigate and bring charges under the existing laws of the U.S. and Israel.
I strongly urge you to support The Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act, which imposes sanctions on persons who aid efforts by the ICC to prosecute Americans or Israelis. The House passed this bipartisan legislation (H.R.23) last week.
This legislation will send an effective message that the ICC must not undermine efforts to rout Hamas and other terror entities while punishing Israel simply for doing what it must to rescue and protect its citizens.
Thank you,
[YOUR NAME]
