In 2024, Congress passed numerous vital pro-Israel measures to ensure the United States stood shoulder-to-shoulder with our ally Israel.
These bipartisan initiatives, adopted thanks to the support of AIPAC activists like you, included:
- Passage of the largest security aid package in Israel’s history. The bipartisan aid package ($14.3 billion) will help Israel acquire lifesaving defense systems and other resources to protect its families from growing threats on all fronts.
- Passage of biting sanctions legislation to increase the economic pressure on Iran, including sanctions on foreign ports and refineries that process Iranian petroleum exports and tightening sanctions on Chinese institutions purchasing petroleum from Iran.
- Support of Israel’s right to self-defense. Shortly after the October 7 attacks and countless times since, members of Congress have spoken out in support of Israel’s right to defend its citizens and publicly reaffirmed America’s unwavering commitment.But the dangers to Israel — and our work together — are far from over. We need to keep up the momentum in 2025 to ensure Congress continues to stand with Israel.
In the year ahead, we must continue working to build meaningful relationships with those who are in a position to shape America’s alliance with Israel and advance policies that help keep our ally safe.
