Hi John,

Yesterday I mentioned that my Democratic opponent Derek Kilmer is a Trump enabler.

We’re not going to defeat Trump and the GOP with empty promises — help me replace a corporate Democrat by donating $3 now, so I can pay for phone banking next week.

Kilmer carefully cultivates a public image of a moderate Democrat who opposes Trump’s policies, but GovTrack ranks him as the 11th most conservative Democrat in the House for a reason. Here are 6 times he enabled Trump by voting for Trump’s priorities:

  1. Voted for Trump’s National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020, about which Rep. Barbara Lee said: “After failing its first agency-wide audit last year, Congress should not be rewarding the Pentagon with a massive spending increase. I cannot support a bill that funds the Pentagon at a level far beyond what is necessary for our national defense.”

  2. Voted to approve funding for Trump’s border wall.

  3. Voted for the USMCA (Trump’s NAFTA 2.0 trade deal).

  4. Voted to fund ICE without sufficient migrant protections.

  5. Voted to extend the Patriot Act.

  6. Voted for warrantless collection of Americans’ web browsing and internet searches with the USA FREEDOM Reauthorization Act.

This is inexcusable. Yet the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and the WA State Democratic Party continue to blacklist our campaign to try to stack the deck in favor of two-faced Kilmer.

I’ve spent my entire life fighting for progressive values: as a tenants’ rights organizer, a commissioner on the Tacoma Commission on Disabilities, and a court-appointed special advocate for kids in foster care in Pierce County.

I will ALWAYS stand for our progressive, Democratic values.
