Indivisibles,
Trump’s inauguration isn’t until next week, but the Senate confirmation process for his top cabinet nominees has already begun. The vast majority of Trump’s 54 nominees are unqualified or downright dangerous, but the truth is we can’t stop every one of them from getting confirmed. We have to pick our battles. That’s why we’re honing in on the handful of candidates we believe pose the biggest threat to our democracy, rule of law, and public safety. These include:
- Kash Patel for FBI Director -- A Trump loyalist with a history of undermining justice.
- Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense -- A right-wing propagandist who would endanger national security and push divisive ideological agendas.
- Russell Vought for OMB Director -- The architect of Project 2025, designed to dismantle federal programs and concentrate power.
- RFK Jr. for Secretary of Health and Human Services -- A notorious anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist whose nomination would threaten public health and safety.
The Senate hearings are our best opportunity to expose just how dangerous these nominees are, and the work to block their confirmations is already underway. Since last month, Indivisibles have been calling and emailing their senators to oppose Kash Patel’s nomination, and yesterday we launched new tools and resources to start opposing the other nominees (with more to come).
With a big enough groundswell of public opposition we can block and delay some of Trump’s worst picks and set the tone for holding the other nominees accountable. But we need your help to fund the advocacy tools, organizing and policy staff, and support for local groups to get this work done. So if you want to help us fight back against Trump’s nominees, then please click here to help pitch in.

We know this won’t be an easy fight. Republicans have a 53-seat majority, some Democrats have already shown signs of wavering, and the confirmation battles won’t be the only thing we have to worry about. In the first hundred days of Trump’s term, we can also expect hundreds of executive orders and harmful pieces of legislation to begin moving through Congress.
Our work isn’t just about building public opposition -- we have to keep that grassroots energy strategically focused on the battles where we can have the most impact. That means cases where we can outright block or delay or where our organizing can focus public attention on the most extreme, unpopular aspects of the MAGA agenda to begin breaking up their coalition.
It’s not an easy task -- but it is one that we’ve been preparing for. After the election, we focused on growing our network of local groups, onboarding new Indivisibles, and building out strategies for how and when we respond to the chaos of Trump 2.0. Now, with the Senate confirmations underway and the inauguration less than a week away, we need your help to put those strategies into action. Please click here to donate and help us to drive massive grassroots opposition to Trump’s nominees.
