Here’s the situation: Members of Congress have
access to sensitive, privileged information to be able to anticipate and
legislate as part of their jobs.

Some use this sensitive information to make huge profits from buying and
trading individual stocks that they know will perform well. Then this
happens:

Since before she was elected, Alexandria has called for an end to this
unethical practice.

So last week — alongside Representatives Krishnamoorthi, Mills, and
Fitzpatrick — Alexandria introduced the Bipartisan Restoring Faith in
Government Act to ban Congressmembers and their dependents from doing just
that.

We must do everything we can to restore the American people’s faith in our
institutions. That starts with making sure that no one can abuse their
position in Congress to make huge profits from the stock market.
