Dear A.,
Israelis remain on edge as they await Hamas'

response to a hostage-ceasefire deal agreed to by Israel, America, Egypt and Qatar.
Reports from those involved remain optimistic.
"I believe we will get a ceasefire," U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said today. "We await final word from Hamas on its acceptance, and until we get that word, it will remain on the brink. That could come anytime. It could come in the hours ahead. It could come in the days ahead."
Prime Minister Netanyahu also met with hostage families today and told them that the deal was "days or hours" from being finalized, according to Israeli reports on the meeting.
Meanwhile, the Associated Press

highlighted the terms of the latest version of the agreement, which includes three phases. It reportedly includes a 42-day pause in fighting, in exchange for the release of 33 Israeli hostages and hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, as well as the surging of additional humanitarian aid into Gaza.
Israeli health agencies are preparing for the potential return of hostages. "We saw that the hostages [freed in the previous deal] were in a difficult state," said Dr. Noa Ziv, who studied the freed hostages. "That was after about 50 days of captivity. One can only speculate about the complex health and mental states the hostages will be in after 466 days in captivity."
The United States must increase the pressure on Hamas and its sponsors in Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey to release the hostages.

The Iran-backed Houthi terrorists

launched two ballistic missiles at Israel last night, triggering sirens that forced hundreds of thousands of Israelis into bomb shelters.
The IDF successfully intercepted both missiles, but a large fragment of the second missile struck a home in a town outside of Jerusalem, which you can see below.

Iran and Russia to sign strategic partnership agreement
Russian President Vladimir Putin

will host Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Moscow on Friday for the signing of a "comprehensive strategic partnership" treaty between the two countries.
Iran has provided Russia with hundreds of weaponized drones for Putin's war in Ukraine, which have been used to carry out attacks on Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure.
In return, Iran is likely seeking sophisticated Russian air defense systems and advanced Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jets, in order to improve its ability to fend off Israeli strikes.
Iran and Russia are working together to fuel chaos and violence around the world. America must fully enforce sanctions against Iran and increase the economic pressure on the regime.

Anti-Israel group calls for arrest of COGAT chief, responsible for faciliating humanitarian aid to Gaza
An anti-Israel organization, The Hind Rajab Foundation, said it had asked Italian authorities

to arrest a senior Israeli general visiting Rome.
The organization claimed to have filed a case against Maj. Gen. Ghassan Alian, who heads the Coordinator for Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), the IDF body responsible for coordinating humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Since October 7, 2023, COGAT has facilitated the delivery of over

1.3 million tons of aid into Gaza, and in just the past week over 1,070 trucks carrying food, water, medical supplies, and shelter equipment entered Gaza.
Anti-Israel extremists care more about targeting Israelis than they do about helping Gazans, as this latest stunt demonstrates. The United States must work to counter efforts to target Israelis on the world stage.
