As he nears the end of a historic three-term run, Gov. Jay Inslee today delivered his final State of the State address. Tomorrow, he formally transfers the authority and duties of the highest state office in Washington to newly elected Gov. Bob Ferguson.
First elected in 2012, Inslee ran on a platform of creating jobs, growing Washington’s clean energy sector, fully funding education and expanding access to early learning, and instilling Lean management principles throughout state government.
Twelve years later, Inslee and legislators are able to list these and many more accomplishments.
