# [#]The scene unfolding in Los Angeles right now is devastating – to say the least – and my thoughts and prayers are with all those affected.

Congress must immediately come together to pass federal aid to help the impacted communities recover and rebuild. Republican or Democrat, that’s what we do in times of crisis – we help each other.

But here’s the thing: These increasingly deadly and destructive natural disasters don’t have to be our new normal.

Congress and the incoming presidential administration must work together to pass and enact bipartisan laws that mitigate the climate crisis and make our communities more resilient.

Rest assured that I will keep fighting to bring immediate relief to the wildfire victims and long-term solutions to build a safer, sustainable future for all.
