There are currently three active wildfires burning in Los Angeles County, driven by extreme winds and weather conditions. Nearly 40,000 acres have burned and it's estimated that more than 12,000 structures have been damaged or destroyed. At least 24 people have lost their lives and searches are continuing.

RED FLAG WARNING: Critical fire weather conditions will continue through the middle of this week with little relief. Red Flag Warnings are in effect for portions of Los Angeles and Ventura counties. The event continues to bring life-threatening, destructive, and widespread winds that can result in significant impacts such as downed trees, power outages, and most significantly the high risk for large fires with very rapid spread.

Supervisors Ratify Local Emergency Proclamation To Cut Red Tape and Speed Recovery

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors today ratified a local emergency proclamation to provide quicker access to recovery resources for residents.

Local Assistance Centers & Disaster Recovery Centers for Impacted Residents Open Today

Local Assistance Centers & Disaster Recovery Centers are open to the public today, January 14, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Starting Wednesday, January 15, 2025, the Disaster Recovery Centers will be available to the public from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Understanding FEMA Determination Letter

LA County residents who registered for FEMA assistance will receive a letter. If the letter says you are “not approved” for assistance, it does not mean you have been denied assistance. Understanding this letter and any next steps you need to take is critical to move your recovery forward.

Free N95 Masks Available Now At Los Angeles County Libraries

To protect residents from toxic air quality in areas throughout the region, N95 masks are being made available for free at the following Los Angeles County libraries:

If there is not a color icon on your address, it means a building has not yet been inspected. We will add damage assessments daily as they become available.

Department of Economic Opportunity Launches Disaster Relief Webpage

The Los Angeles County Department of Economic Opportunity introduced an emergency resources webpage to support workers and businesses affected by the wildfires. This platform serves as a comprehensive resource center, offering assistance and the latest information to help businesses and workers through the recovery and rebuilding process, with services and programs from federal, state, and local partners.

Additionally, the U.S. Small Business Administration is offering vital assistance to homeowners, renters, nonprofits, and businesses of all sizes affected by the wildfires. Read more about their services here.
