The House and Senate have introduced NRA-backed “concealed carry reciprocity” bills which would allow people to come from other states and carry loaded weapons in public– regardless of that state’s law on concealed carry. Donald Trump has promised to sign these deadly bills into law.
Let’s be clear: Lowering the bar for who can carry loaded and concealed weapons in public makes us all less safe. John: Will you make it clear that the majority of Americans don’t want more concealed firearms in public spaces?

Should people be able to undermine existing state laws and carry loaded, concealed weapons across state lines?

John,
Imagine if anyone could come into your state carrying a loaded weapon in public – regardless of your existing state laws.
That’s the terrifying reality that Donald Trump and the gun lobby want, John, but Brady is fighting tooth and nail to protect lives from the Second Amendment extremists that now control Congress and soon the White House.

We’ve fought the NRA and Trump’s deadly agenda on guns before and won – and we’re ready to do it again. Are you with us? We’re asking gun violence prevention activists to speak out against deadly concealed carry reciprocity NOW:

Trump made a campaign promise to sign a nationwide "concealed carry reciprocity" law, meaning anyone with a concealed carry permit could travel to all 50 states with their concealed weapon regardless of that state’s law on concealed carry. In many cases, this means individuals can carry loaded weapons with reckless abandon, and without any requirements for training, proficiency or knowledge that this individual has ever so much as fired a weapon. Concealed carry is proven to increase gun violence — in some cases by as much as 15%.

John, in short, we are all less safe when anyone could be carrying a loaded firearm.
|
The truth is that the NRA's guns everywhere agenda is not what the American people want. The majority of Americans support bipartisan, common-sense gun safety laws that save lives – and there could not be a more critical time to make this undeniably clear. To our lawmakers: We want more lives saved, not more people carrying concealed weapons:

Thanks for being in this fight with us, John.
