Friend,
We joined X (formerly known as Twitter) in 2009 to amplify our mission: fighting hate, seeking justice and promoting equity. For over a decade, it’s served as a tool to share our work, values and vision with the world.
However, recent changes at X have ushered in a troubling rise in hate and disinformation, along with a decline in the enforcement of moderation policies. These shifts have resulted in a platform that is no longer conducive to a productive dialogue, and the racism, antisemitism, misogyny and anti-immigrant hate openly dispersed on X disproportionately harms the very communities we are dedicated to protecting.
After careful reflection, we have made the decision to discontinue active posting and engagement on this platform since it no longer aligns with our core values. While our account will remain live to preserve access to past content, we are redirecting our energy to platforms that promote meaningful dialogue and prioritize the well-being of marginalized communities.
We encourage you to stay connected with us at:
SPLCenter.org
And on our other social platforms:
Bluesky
LinkedIn
Facebook
Instagram
We hope you’ll join us on the above platforms as we continue the march for justice — and rest assured that we will continue monitoring and responding to hate, disinformation and moderation policies on all social media platforms in our pursuit of a world free of hate.
Thank you for staying connected as we navigate the next four years together.
In solidarity,
Your friends at the Southern Poverty Law Center
