It's official:
The House of Delegates has PASSED the constitutional amendment language to protect abortion in Virginia. Now, it’s headed to the Senate Floor for a vote.
Step one is complete. But the work is far from over.
The Senate still needs to vote on its version of the resolution. We expect that to happen next week. Then there is crossover – where each chamber will vote on the other chamber’s version of the amendment. This means the House will vote on the Senate’s version, and the Senate will vote on the House’s version.
All these steps must be completed before the session ends on February 22. We are on track, but we must keep up the pressure.
