President Donald Trump’s pick for Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, just demolished Democrat Senators trying to derail his nomination.
Ever since Trump tapped Hegseth, Democrats boasted that the decorated war veteran and Fox News host would be the cabinet nominee they took down. They just had their chance at Hegseth’s confirmation hearing at the Senate Armed Services Committee.
It didn’t go as planned.
One Democrat after another launched into what they thought were gotcha questions. One after another got humiliated.
Ranking Member Jack Reed from the People’s Republic of Vermont asked Hegseth to define the slang insult “jagoff.” 🙄
Next, New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) yelled at Hegseth because he thinks female soldiers should only be allowed in combat if they meet the same standards as male soldiers. 😬
It only went downhill from there.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) — who is most famous for lying for decades about fighting in Vietnam — declared Hegseth unfit to lead the Pentagon. 🤦♂️
A rambling Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) accused Hegseth, without any evidence, of planning to invade Greenland and Panama and — no, seriously — shoot protestors in the leg. 🤷♂️
It took over two hours before a Democrat Senator asked Hegseth a substantive question about reforming the Pentagon!
The Left, the media, and the Beltway Establishment thought Hegseth was vulnerable because he was so different. They don’t realize — that’s why Donald Trump nominated him!

The United States has not won a war in more than three decades. Biden’s weakness emboldened China, Iran, Hamas, and Vladimir Putin. Our military branches are facing a recruiting crisis.
Of course, we need new blood at the Pentagon. It’s time to forget about “diversity" and “equity” and return to lethality and competence.
Democrats thought they could cancel Hegseth for being an outsider and holding normal, mainstream, patriotic views. Those days are over.
After all the Left’s chest-thumping, Hegseth’s hearing was a rout. Not only did committee Democrats not hurt his nomination. Their frivolous questions only helped him.
They showed exactly why Trump was right and why Pete Hegseth is the right man for the job.
