Hi John,

Moms are breaking barriers and reshaping leadership across the country. Today, Vote Mama Foundation and New American Leaders released a joint report building on our groundbreaking research revealing that nearly 42 percent of New American women serving in state legislatures are mothers of minor children—what we call “New American Mamas.”

Who are New American Mamas? These are moms of minor children who are either immigrants or first-generation Americans. These leaders embody resilience, bringing diverse lived experiences to policymaking while navigating unique challenges as both caregivers and representatives of immigrant communities.

Through this research, we’re shining a light on the intersectional identities of these trailblazers, empowering them to lead, and breaking down barriers that keep moms out of office.

This research is made possible by the support of friends like you. Together, we are ensuring more New American Mamas have the resources, representation, and opportunities they deserve to lead and thrive.

Thank you for being a part of our movement!
