School sports provide young people key lessons about leadership, self discipline, success, failure, and being a part of a team. Young transgender and nonbinary people, like anyone else, have the best chance to thrive when they are supported, affirmed, and welcomed into every aspect of life, including school sports. If the bill passes, it would block trans and nonbinary youth from team sports regardless of where they live and deny them access to important developmental milestones.
Letting students play shouldn't be a divisive issue, but anti-LGBTQ+ extremists are doing everything in their power to attack queer youth and prevent them from enjoying the full rights and access they deserve in school. We can't let anti-trans forces attack our kids without a fight – from the House to the Senate (if it passes) we must do everything we can to stop this bill.
