FSIS Issues Public Health Alert For Chicken Empanada Products January 8, 2025 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert for frozen product labeled as Chicken Curry Empanadas due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen. The product labeled as Chicken Curry Empanadas may actually contain Apple Cinnamon Empanadas, which contain milk, a known allergen, that is not declared on the product label. FSIS is issuing this public health alert to ensure that consumers with allergies to milk are aware that this product should not be consumed. A recall was not requested because the affected product is no longer available for purchase. The frozen empanada products labeled as Chicken Curry Empanadas that may contain Apple Cinnamon Empanada products were produced on November 14, 2024, and packaged on November 20, 2024, and November 21, 2024.  Read More

The Mochi Ice Cream Company LLC Issues Allergy Alert January 9, 2025 - The Mochi Ice Cream Company LLC, Vernon, California is recalling 1350 cases of Peach Mango Sorbet, because it may contain undeclared pasteurized cooked egg white. The product can be identified by the My Mochi brand and the flavor of Peach Mango. The product is in an orange 6 count box weighing 7.5 oz., in the freezer section with lots of 337-24 & 341-24 marked on the box. Read More

Lifestyle Evolution Issues Recall January 10, 2025 - Lifestyle Evolution Inc., is recalling select lots of NuGo Dark Chocolate Chip and Dark Chocolate Pretzel nutrition bars because they may contain undeclared milk.   NuGo Dark Chocolate Chip and NuGo Dark Pretzel are individually wrapped bars packed in 12 or 18ct Multipack boxes. NuGo’s item numbers for the bars are: 52101 for NuGo Chocolate Chip bars and 52901 for NuGo Dark Pretzel bars. The recalled product lot codes are Best By dates of- Dark Chip: 12/21/2025 through 12/23/2025, and Dark Pretzel of 12/14/2025 through 12/16/2025. Read More

Bestway Sandwiches Inc. Issues Recall January 11, 2025 - Bestway Sandwiches Inc., a Valencia, Calif. establishment, is recalling approximately 24,870 pounds of frozen chicken and cheese taquito products that may be contaminated with foreign material, specifically metal. The frozen chicken and cheese taquito items were produced on July 3, 2024, and September 25, 2024. The product bears establishment number “EST. P-40327” on the carton package. These items were shipped to select ALDI grocery stores nationwide. Read More
